A luxurious and elegant history

Historic hotel drawingSet within eight acres of stunning Cotswolds countryside, our historic hotel dates all the way back to the 16th century. Originally built in 1584 by William Lawrence, a wealthy wool merchant, the Lawrence family owned the estate for over 200 years, where it underwent multiple expansions and renovations. 

In 1946, the house was sold and converted into a hotel, and has hosted a number of notable guests over the years, including Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, and the Beatles. The historic hotel offers a unique opportunity to experience the history and luxury of the Cotswolds.

1. The Museum of Gloucester

2. Gloucester Cathedral

3. Gloucester Docks
